(More customer reviews)We use these muslin washers as baby wipes --- I use them with a small bowl of warm water at changing time.We have stopped using pre-packaged wipes, except on-the-go.I would describe the loose weave of these wipes as "cheesecloth" or "gauze" more than muslin.Word-mincing aside, however, the weave provides and excellently 'grippy' texture that really grabs poop curds and ointment residue, leaving the skin clean.Our baby is exclusively breastfed at this point, so I can't comment on efficacy for formula-fed stools or stools after introduction of solids.I like the thin texture and the way these wipes rinse easily.Two aspects of this product keep it from being excellent.First, please be clear that Bamboo fabric is technically a rayon (this product is accurately marked as such).It is heavily manipulated chemically and really cannot be considered a natural fiber, nor can it be considered eco-friendly, even though the bamboo plant is.Please see Christina Binkley's Nov. 2009 article in the Wall Street Journal for more info.Second, these washers have coarse, scratchy tags that cannot be removed without taking out the seam and having to re-sew it.The wipe fabric itself is quite supple, so the tags are very prominent and I find they get in the way when wiping.
